Tammy E. Newmark, Fund Manager and President
Newmark heads the fund management team for EcoEnterprises Fund. She also
serves as president of Fondo EcoEmpresas, S.A. Before joining the Conservancy,
Newmark led Technoserve, Inc.'s environmental business advisory services in
Latin America and Africa. Prior to that, she was a founding officer and a vice
president of the Environmental Enterprises Assistance Fund, a nonprofit venture
capital fund that specializes in environmental investments. She established
Yayasan Bina Usaha Lingkungan and Preferred Energy Investments in Indonesia and
the Philippines, respectively. She has also worked for the International Finance
Corporation in Washington, D.C., and The Chase Manhattan Bank in New York.
Newmark has an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Michele Pena, Director of
Operations
Pena brings organizational management and marketing expertise from her five
years as a program director at the Climate Institute, a nonprofit organization
that facilitates dialogue regarding global climate change among scientists,
policy makers, business executives and citizens. She has an M.A. from American
University in Washington, D.C.
Amanda Serenyi, Assistant Director of Operations
Serenyi has been with the Conservancy since 2006 first as Resources Coordinator
on the Mesoamerica and Caribbean Resources team, then as Project Manager with
the Conservancy's Campaign for a Sustainable Planet. Prior to her time
with the Conservancy, she served as Assistant Director of Student Life focusing
on student events and communications at the Stanford Graduate School of
Business. She received her B.A. in Latin American Literatures (Spanish and
Portuguese) from the University of California, Berkeley.
Eugenia
Villalobos Baldioceda, Senior
Investment Officer
Villalobos joins the Fund from Citibank Costa Rica where she worked
as a Risk Officer in the Corporate Bank Division. Prior to that, she
worked with Grupo Bursatil Aldesa, a local brokerage firm in San Jose
as a Corporate Finance Project Analyst. Villalobos did her undergraduate
work at the
University
of
Costa Rica
and holds an MS in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of
Technology in Atlanta,
Georgia.
Nathalie Prado Vega, Monitoring Officer
Prado has over 7 years’ experience as an administrative assistant for
various private sector firms in Costa Rica. She received her B.A. in
Business Administration from the Universidad Internacional de las Américas.
Wilson Hidalgo Maroto, Technical Assistance Coordinator
Hidalgo has over 10 years' experience as an administrative director with private
sector firms in Costa Rica. He is an anthropologist by training and was
a Fulbright Scholar in Pennsylvania.
Jonathan C. Rotter, Secretary
Rotter is a senior attorney with the Conservancy's Legal Function supporting the
Caribbean Division. A member of the organization's general counsel office since
1995, Rotter is the vice chairman for the American Bar Association's Standing
Committee on Climate Change and Sustainable Development. Rotter received
his J.D. from the William & Mary School of Law.
Greg Fishbein,
Assistant Secretary
Fishbein manages the Conservancy’s Conservation
Finance and Planning Group which advises on large, complex worldwide conservation
initiatives. Prior to joining the Conservancy, Fishbein was a
Partner at Mercer Management Consulting in Boston and served as an aide to
Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Fishbein is a member of the Board of the
Wildlands Center for the Prevention of Roads based in Missoula, Montana.
He holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Wharton
School of Business.
