Portfolio The Fund offers investors and donors an opportunity to create profitable businesses in the service of nature. The Fund harnesses the power of the market to achieve lasting conservation in some of the globe's most endangered and most beautiful natural areas. We seek nothing less than to transform the way business and conservation are achieved. Because the Fund only provides financing for up to 50% of any single venture, all contributions to the Fund leverage additional financing for each investment. Every dollar will be matched again by investors in the portfolio businesses. Private and institutional investors may participate in EcoEnterprises Fund by purchasing shares or making a charitable contribution toward its work. Currently, EcoEnterprises Fund invests in commercially viable enterprises in Latin America and the Caribbean. We require each venture in our portfolio to be environmentally compatible and to collaborate with a nonprofit conservation or community organization. In this way, we hope to ensure that business success generates conservation progress. Targeted sectors for investment include sustainable agriculture, sustainable forestry, non-timber forest products, sustainable aquaculture, and ecotourism. Portfolio ventures must adhere to strict standards for biodiversity conservation, sustainable use, and community involvement.
