Latest EcoEnterprises Fund Newsletter
From the Fund Manager
Dear Friends,
In the market’s ever-changing uncertainty, we have been reflecting on our investments. A recent team visit to Veragua Rainforest Research & Adventure Park reminded us of what sets us apart: it’s possible to touch, taste, smell and get up close and personal with the products in which we have invested. Whether it’s a tour through Veragua, sitting on Suma Pacha’s garden furniture purchased at Home Depot, drinking a Sambazon Açai smoothie from Whole Foods or gazing at organic calla lilies from Organic Blooming, EcoEnterprises Fund invests in tangible products that bring a bit of nature into our hands. There’s nothing more dependable than nature and its products.
A Closer Look: Seeing the Forest for the Trees
Given today’s climate change reality, it’s hard to underestimate the benefits of forest conservation: capturing carbon, mitigating climate change and reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD), just to name a few. EcoEnterprises Fund is playing our part. By investing in sustainable forestry and non-timber forest products as well as forest-based ecotourism companies, we are encouraging sustainable, alternative uses of Latin America’s forest resources.
